Parking is a ways and means of circulating traffic. This benefits businesses in the downtown and allows greater use of accessibility to customers and tourists.
There are 400 parking meters in the Pim to Gore Street corridor, including Queen Street and the side feeder streets. From Pim to Dennis Streets, the cost is $1 per hour with 50 cents per hour in the stretch from Dennis to Gore.
Free two-hour parking is offered at Heritage Lot (south side of Queen at Pilgrim), Brock/Albert, Bingham St. (behind Stone's Office Supply area), Spring (behind Cliffe Printing), King/Albert, Bruce Street (behind Credit Counselling), Essar Centre (if an event isn't already scheduled) and Dennis Street (behind bus terminal). The International Lot (west of Call Centre) and the Bell Ave lot (behind Grand Theatre) both require special city-issued permits in order to park there.
Accessible parking permit holders and Veterans (poppy plate holders) are granted two hours free parking at meters in the downtown core.
