New Shining Moon Indigenous Fashion Show + Food Bank Fundraiser

Mark your calendars on Friday, March 1st, 2024, Sabrina Wabanosse and Caceila Trahan, in collaboration with Youth Odena and Waabinong Head Start Family Resource Centre, are proud to present New Shining Moon Indigenous Fashion Show + Food Bank Fundraiser!
This by and for event will highlight the talents of Indigenous young people! The evening will be emceed by Teddy Syrette and Hanna Sewell! Graphic Arts are designed by Taylor Jolin! Fashion Designers include: The Chad Clothing Brand, Yin’s Legacies, Tawny Illustrations, Logan Perreault, and Adam Aelick (baa)! Hair for models will be done by Casey Barry of Colour Studio 97, and Wahsay Pyawasit of Boss Braids, and MUA by Aiyanna Beauty! Live musicians include: Justin Perreault Sr. , Sawbé + No Filter Records, B The Wiz and O’Rose, and Oh Zee + Sound Syndrome!
The proceeds generated will be directed towards organizations addressing the critical issue of food insecurity in both downtown Bawating and on the Rankin reserve. In acknowledgment of the unprecedented challenges our community faces, we aim to celebrate the resilience of our people. As we embark on this meaningful endeavor, we invite you to join hands with us in fostering community spirit.
Here's how you can contribute:
Sponsorship and Donations:- Become a sponsor and gain recognition at the event and in future social media posts. Please make personal donations payable to our Organizational Mentor: Waabinong Head Start Family Resource Centre, c/o Youth Odena.
Services and Goods: Donate your services, especially if you're a videographer, can provide pizza, or food donations OR Start collecting non-perishable food items in your households or community.
Attendance and Participation: Attend the event with a Pay What You Can cover, suggesting a donation of $10 or a non-perishable food item. Art vendors can secure free tables to display Indigenous artwork.
